Inducted 2025

Rebecca Travis completed her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1984 and started her consulting career right after graduation at HDR Ind. Travis worked with Gee & Jenson, Williams, Hatfield & Stoner, and Mathews Consulting, before joining Baxter & Woodman in 2016.  She has worked to build expertise in many fields including project design and management, infrastructure improvement, and municipal services.

When Travis joined Baxter and Woodman, she quickly rose to a position of leadership becoming the division manager for Florida Operations as well as being responsible for managing the Water Resources practice across all the company’s areas. In just four years with the organization, Travis was elected to the board of directors as an executive vice president. Her projects have received several recognitions of leadership and engineering excellence from the Florida Stormwater Association and the American Public Works Association. Licenses and certifications also exemplify her passion for the field; Travis obtained her professional engineering licenses in Florida and Texas; she has achieved LEED certifications as a LEED Green Associate, and she holds an Envision Sustainability Professional certification.

Travis is also a member of the National Association of Women in Construction, the Water Environment Federation, the American Water Works Association, the American Public Works Association, the Florida Stormwater Association, and the Society of Women Engineers, dedicating her time to serving as President and other leadership roles supporting opportunities for fellow women in engineering. She is active in mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Travis is a leader in stormwater management while keeping the communities she serves safe and efficient; all while empowering others through her service.
